Peony Garden Cupcakes | Easy DIY Mother's Day Dessert

Peony Garden Cupcakes

We recently did a little pop-up shop and at the event they featured some darling cupcakes that were topped with all different shapes and colors of flowers, creating this little mini garden topped cupcake. I loved it.  After looking it over, I also determined that they would be so easy to make.  There is very little skill in making little swirls of flowers - and they could be made from the Pastry Tips I already carry in the store.  I added a leaf tip to the store to complete the look, which really did set the flowers off.

Wouldn't they be so great for Mother's Day?  Or a bridal shower, or baby shower or birthday.

The Jumbo Brown Cupcake Papers with chocolate cupcakes create the perfect garden base.  You could make any color combination to match your occasion.  I'm also planning to do a white hydrangea with green leaves that will go with everything I do in the summer since we have an abundance of white hydrangea in our yard.

I used this Swiss Buttercream Recipe for the icing.  If you haven't tried it, it is completely divine.  It is also a dream to pipe with - so smooth.

I started with one large blossom with the Jumbo Star Tip.

Then I added two smaller blooms with the starburst.  Of course making different, mix-matched versions of these cupcakes is what makes them cute.

Then added the leaves.

If you are nervous to try, you can see how simple it is - Emma's were darling.  If you have hands-on kids, it would be a great project to do together on Mother's Day, too.
